About us
The Oval (St. Helens) is our pride & joy, it’s where we’ll assess and support Parents with their babies for upto 12 weeks, working closely with Social Services in our Ofsted registered Residential Family Centre.
We’re looking for ambitious staff to join our team.
Within The Oval we can support upto 5 Families at any one time, and we believe it’s important they know who is working with them while they’re with us. That’s where you come in!
Within the larger team we need expertise on Substance Misuse, Health & Domestic Violence, so we’re keen to hear from you if you specialise in these subjects.
We will work with you on your own development to further enhance the lives of those that we care for.
Part of your role will be to deliver sessions to the Families to help them be the best they can be.
Within The Oval our primary focus is always on what is best for the children that are with us, and we know the best way to achieve this is by being completely honest, transparent and empathetic with the Parent.
Within Shape Care our primary focus is you. We’ll make sure you feel valued, fairly compensated and empowered. You’ll find out much more once you’ve registered interest with us.
Our 20 odd years of experience tell us we can never rest on our laurels so we continually read, develop ourselves & strive for better, so part of trying to shape the industry with us means you will share these views.
The Role
As one of our Senior staff you’ll have a wealth of experience, ideally specialising in Social Work, Substance Misuse, Health Care or Domestic Violence or supporting Parents & their Babies in other capacities.
If you do join from other specialisms we will ensure to continue your required CPD.
You’ll lead a small team which will be part of The Oval’s larger team, and while every Family will know you’re there to support.
Communication is absolutely vital, so you’ll have weekly regular updates with your team, as well as monthly meetings with the whole team.
Part of your role will be to plan & deliver sessions to the Families to help them be the best they can be.
In 12 months time you’ll look back proudly, knowing:
Your observations, assessments and reports were insightful, professional and accurate
You were steadfast in your commitment to ensuring every child receives the best possible start in life
You imparted knowledge & wisdom with passion to all our Families
You saw the direct impact of your work, and you always contributed your ideas for the overall success of The Oval
To achieve a work life balance and consistency for our Families we will always work with you to give you an amazing work/life balance, our full time staff generally work just 3 days per week, with 1 in 3 weekends.
